The Lovepost is a nonprofit, socially responsible, slow-media platform dedicated to tackling social and environmental issues through a solution-focused lens. As a mission-driven collective, our global contributors share a common goal: to create content that inspires positive change and makes planet Earth a more inclusive and thriving home for all its inhabitants.
Founded in 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand, The Lovepost emerged from a desire to offer an alternative to the prevalent market-driven approach in journalism. In an era where attention is currency, mainstream media often relies on sensationalism to compete for engagement. While this approach may drive clicks, it can also distort narratives, amplify fear and reduce complex issues to oversimplified soundbites.
However, we recognise that these challenges don’t exist in a vacuum. The pressures that drive sensationalism—competition, engagement metrics and financial sustainability—are ingrained in the media landscape. We don’t claim to have all the answers, nor do we dismiss the valuable work done by journalists navigating these realities. Instead, we see The Lovepost as an experiment in what media can be when it isn’t governed by these pressures—when depth takes precedence over speed, and when stories are created with intention rather than urgency.
We aim to transmit content that inspires, challenges, educates and pushes humanity in a more meaningful direction. By prioritising reflection over reactivity, honesty over manipulation, and solutions over problems, we strive to provide a wholesome media experience. We recognise that just as excess junk food isn’t good for our wellbeing, the consumption of sensational media can have a detrimental impact on our mental health, society and planet at large.
Our global collective of creators work with care and purpose to provide fresh, nourishing mind-meals for conscious citizens who are ready to challenge their thinking and play their part in offering solutions to the troubles of the planet.
